Ibex

In March we went out to the west desert for the day to climb in Ibex.  We met the Gouldings (look at us, we have friends!) and their friends for a day of windy fun.  We brought lots of food (and the Gouldings fed us steak salads - yum!), bikes, kites and their friends brought a tiny go cart which the kids drove all over the salt flats.  It was a blast.... even though I didn't climb anything since my belly was already objecting to climbing.
The kids LOVED flying kites.  We had never really done it before.  But it spoiled them - it was this magical wind where the kite would just fly out of your hands into the air and stay up forever.  No work involved, whatsoever.

The man wore his helmet all day.

Cool dad.  Tiny bike.

Silly smiler wearing the chalk bad she insisted on leaving on.

Poser.  :)

Squirrely did some good climbing.

And go-carting.

This kid was addicted to the kite.  He flew it for hours!

Van getting his first pump... from his dad.

That little black blob is Van on the go-cart.  He had to stretch his leg and his body all funny to reach the pedal, but he made it work.  Because that's what Van does when something is fun.  Kind of like the 20 in mountain bike he started riding when he was still 3.  He couldn't reach the breaks, but he made it work.

View from the top.

Her picture smile kills me.

Happy, flying baby!

March

Izzy figured out how to climb our back fence.

We only genetically make monkeys.  What's the deal?

Van and I went on a frozen yogurt date!

Van has been swimming for a long time (since he was 2.5) but his confidence has waivered becuase we aren't in the water as much here in Utah.  All it took was some goggles.  The kid is a machine again!

The rock and gem show with Grandma Terry and the cousins.  The kids LOVED it!

Izzy the artist strikes again.  This time all over the walls.

The guilty little munchkin, cleaning up her mess.

The big kids helped, too.  They were cute and sweet about it.

More fun at Discovery Gateway - our pass is up in May, so we're squeezing it in whenever we can!

The shadow wall was so fun!

Disney on Ice!  Grandma spoiled us with tickets, then had to cancel her trip to town, so Emery brought Abby with us!

Izzy liked the Princesses and eating licorice.

Tired Van when we finally got home.

Riding Horses with the McCrackens - we have these wonderful neighbors who have a horse and they invited us to go ride with them one Saturday morning.  Emery's dream come true!
Learning some horse basics from Granny Judy

Emery brushing the horse

Izzy loved riding with Judith...

And again with Emery.  When she got off she kept saying, "Again, again!"

February

Here's some of our February fun!

Izzy drew on herself a lot.  I think I've finally got her convinced paper is a better option.  Maybe.

Van loves her.  He's such a good big brother.

Fun at Discovery Gateway!

Can you tell she's saying "moo?"

Em and her friend Abby

I cracked up that he was pooping and reading a magazine.  Such a man.
Valentines day!  We hosted a Valentines Day Cookie Decorating Party for the neighborhood kids.  We had at least 40 kids and close to 20 moms at our house all morning.  I made 80 sugar cookies.  It was crazy!  And fun!
Little treats from mom.

Grape eared guy.

Heart-shaped pizza for dinner!

Sisters

Weather getting warmer.... digging in the dirt!

Two of our besties had their babies THE SAME DAY!  AT THE SAME HOSPITAL!!!  It was magical.  Bekah and I met at the hospital and got to meet the 2 tiny ones.  It was so fun!  Here's Lu's little boy, Maximus.

And here's Lacee's little girl, Adalee

Izzy holding our friend's puppy at the park one day.  Just her size.

Izzy spent 40 minutes standing at the counter putting these shredded brussel sprouts back and forth between these two containers.  What a good helper!

Olympic Opening Ceremonies Party at the Rusts
I don't know what happened to this picture, but look how cute their faces are!  These tiny girls are about to turn 2!  So sad!

Emery and North participating in some Olympic Events!
