Bouldering in Little Cottonwood

Umm... it's really cold in the shade in the morning.  Just ask my freezing body this last Saturday when we went bouldering in Little Cottonwood.

Here's my whiney body trying to do star jumps (aka jumping jacks) to warm up by command of my hubby.

As soon as the sun came up over the mountain the hills sang, though!  And so did my body since I could finally defrost.  :)  It was a great day and so fun to pull on some real rock!  Man, it felt good.  I was sore in muscles I'd forgotten I have.

Go Amy!!

Cutest little face.

Cute freezing baby

Quiz - what's different about this pic from the next one?
Answer - look at Van's tongue.  This is totally worth enlarging the picture, people.

Kolob with the Irvins

The Irvins are some of what we miss most in Vegas.  It's so fun to have friends who love to do adventurous things and will push their kids to do them too.

So we met in the middle for a quick adventure weekend.  Emery and Jayne were so happy to be together again.  I think Aaron and I miss Jayne as much as Em does.  Van and Jersey were hilarious.  They have grown up so much and it's so funny to see their cute little friendship.

We decided to try and push the kids and they hiked 5.4 miles!  It was pretty chilly but we got all 8 kids in and out without any major drama.  The babies were carried and Van and Jersey probably both got carried for a mile, but everyone else was on their own.  It was awesome!

I miss my friend!  :)

Mama Jamie reading to the girls at the end of the hike.  So cute.

It was Jocelyn's 1st birthday so we celebrated with cupcakes and her being perplexed by her candle.

The kids picked up 3 bags of trash on the side of the freeway while I fed Izzy.  My cute little environmentalists!

We stopped and toured Cove Fort on the way back.  I froze, but it was fun!
