Ibex

In March we went out to the west desert for the day to climb in Ibex.  We met the Gouldings (look at us, we have friends!) and their friends for a day of windy fun.  We brought lots of food (and the Gouldings fed us steak salads - yum!), bikes, kites and their friends brought a tiny go cart which the kids drove all over the salt flats.  It was a blast.... even though I didn't climb anything since my belly was already objecting to climbing.
The kids LOVED flying kites.  We had never really done it before.  But it spoiled them - it was this magical wind where the kite would just fly out of your hands into the air and stay up forever.  No work involved, whatsoever.

The man wore his helmet all day.

Cool dad.  Tiny bike.

Silly smiler wearing the chalk bad she insisted on leaving on.

Poser.  :)

Squirrely did some good climbing.

And go-carting.

This kid was addicted to the kite.  He flew it for hours!

Van getting his first pump... from his dad.

That little black blob is Van on the go-cart.  He had to stretch his leg and his body all funny to reach the pedal, but he made it work.  Because that's what Van does when something is fun.  Kind of like the 20 in mountain bike he started riding when he was still 3.  He couldn't reach the breaks, but he made it work.

Her picture smile kills me.

Happy, flying baby!
